Bored
Two days in a row of running and today my legs are tired. I mentally want to run but know it would be a bad idea. Can't wait until that stops. From my experience it seems that the more you do something with fitness, the easier it becomes. Hopefully I'm right with running.
Over the next year as I embark on this incredible journey to break a four-minute mile, I'm going to be raising money through twenty-cents-a-mile.
For every mile that I run until Dec 31, 2010, I'll be donating twenty cents per mile to The Childhood Brain Tumor Foundation. The goal is to raise $50,000.
Sound like something you'd like to be apart of? Follow my blog and join me to help out this great cause. There are no contracts for this, it's purely for motivation for me and for a great cause to help fund research for children with brain tumors.
After each month I'll post how many miles I've ran that month. For example, if I run 50 miles in October, I will donate $10 for that month. Donations can be made at anytime and do not have to be in correlation with the amount of miles I have run. Every donation counts!
It's a nice feeling to know you're good at something. It's a terrible feeling to know you've never been great at anything. I want that to change.
A few months ago I started running for fun, a mile here and there, a 5k, half-marathon, I've become a "good" runner, I want to be great.
I ran a 5:30 mile in highschool, which is not bad. I ran a 5:09 mile three months ago. 4:58 mile two months ago, and a 4:54 mile a few weeks ago.
Could this be it? I only run two or three times a week if that. I was a personal trainer and an avid weightlifter, but never a runner, certainly I'm no expert on the training, stretching, supplementation, or the amount of rest I'll need throughout, but that is part of the challenge. Could I actually be more than just a good runner though? I'm not sure, but I want to find out. This is my goal. I'm giving myself until December 31st 2010 to do something that only a thousand or so people on Earth have ever accomplished. I'm going to break a four-minute-mile. Welcome to my blog. Welcome to Breaking Four.
